In this case study, we’ll examine the transformation of Lookout Archery’s website which has netted over £20,000 worth of bookings (to date) and nearly 400 online bookings to date!

Who are they?

Lookout Archery provides a complete archery experience from beginners to competition archers, based at High Lodge just outside of Brandon.

What were the goals?

Lookout Archery initially had a basic website that simply directed visitors to a Facebook booking form. However, this setup posed several challenges for them. Firstly, it lacked a system to record and manage current, past, and future bookings, necessitating manual checks to ensure sufficient availability. This process consumed valuable time that could have been better utilized in other aspects of their business.

Furthermore, this setup limited online bookings exclusively to users with Facebook accounts, excluding those without one. For individuals without access to Facebook, making a booking required contacting the business directly, which could be inconvenient during busy periods if staff members were unavailable to take calls.

In addition to these limitations, their original website provided insufficient information about their activities and required a general update in terms of appearance and design. It needed to align more closely with an archery activities website, effectively conveying a sense of fun and active engagement.

How could I support?

A complete overhaul of the website was necessary, necessitating the implementation of a specialized booking platform. I carefully selected booking software that closely met their specific requirements, offering features such as customizable timeslots, overbooking restrictions, and a comprehensive booking calendar to efficiently manage past, present, and future bookings. I configured this software and integrated booking links into their redesigned website.

Additionally, to help enrich the websites content, I developed individual pages dedicated to each activity, enhancing the user experience by providing detailed information about each specific activity.

The Results

The website transformation for Lookout Archery yielded remarkable improvements, as demonstrated by the following outcomes:

Enhanced booking numbers – Since the launch of the new website, Lookout Archery has experienced a significant surge in bookings compared to their previous method. Within the first six months alone, they have successfully secured bookings totalling over £20,000. Notably, this achievement is particularly noteworthy considering it encompasses the winter season, typically less popular for bookings compared to the summer period.

The websites visitors surged after website launch with improved SEO

Heightened SEO performance – By implementing strategic SEO optimizations, Lookout Archery observed a notable expansion in the range of keywords for which their website ranked. This substantial improvement in search engine rankings has resulted in heightened visibility online, attracting a larger volume of targeted traffic to their website.
