Frequently Asked Questions

Websites

It’s likely that you know roughly how much you have/want to spend on your website.

From my point of view – there’s two ways to look at this. In theory it should cost what it costs. But, in reality by knowing up front what your budget is, I can pitch the right type of website for your budget.

For example, if you’ve got £500 to spend, then I’d probably suggest a small site with content already provided by you to keep costs down.

If your budget was £5000 then you’d get a custom design, a load more pages, plus some additional features that are going to give you stronger web presence and SEO.

Yes, I can provide this option to spread the cost of your website over 12 to 18 months.

Yes, and the obvious benefit here is that you won’t have to pay for it. This is also a good option if your product or service is of a technical nature as you will be able to get all the precise details correct.

I do offer the option for website copywriting services if you’re stuck for words – and I can also source or team up with a professional copywriter of your choice.

Invariably yes, if you know which booking or CRM system you want to use please let me know during the discovery meeting.

Yes, if your current emails are served from your website host I can migrate these over if you want to use my website hosting.

If your emails are hosted with a dedicated provider such as Microsoft 365 or G-suite you won’t need to make any changes.

This will depend on your requirements and my current workload, but if you already have pre-existing content the time for me to build your website will be decreased.

On average I advise between 4-8 weeks for website builds and 1-2 week for landing pages. E-commerce websites can take longer depending on the amount of products you have.

Absolutely – this is a standard feature included with all website builds. With lots of users now using smartphones to access the web, it shouldn’t be any other way.

I have worked with local freelance photographers in the past on website projects and would strongly recommend this.

Your website is often the first interaction a potential customer has with your business. High-quality, professional photos create a positive and lasting first impression, helping you establish trust and credibility.

I don’t have a particular niche and will consider any project, I have built websites for established businesses, small businesses, freelancers, start-ups and local sports groups.

Website Maintenance

Yes, I currently do this for virtually all of my clients as it allows them to focus on other areas of their business while their website is professionally looked after.

This will include support for adding new content, website technical updates and troubleshooting.

Yes, I use a reputable UK based supplier and you have the option of using a more affordable shared hosting server or a PCI-DSS compliant higher performance server.

This will depend on exactly what support you need from me but typically this can range from £35-145 per month.

Regular maintenance helps safeguard your website against security vulnerabilities, such as malware, hacking attempts, and data breaches. By keeping software, plugins, and themes up to date, you minimize the risk of security breaches and ensure the protection of sensitive user data.

Website maintenance is a completely optional service. However, it is strongly recommended as it’s a more cost effective option should something go wrong with your website.

If you are taking out website hosting or email hosting – there is a minimum term of 12 months.

SEO

This will depend on a variety of factors such as how competitive your industry is and where you are currently ranking.

Typically SEO packages can cost between £150-£300 per month.

The first and most important is your current website’s SEO, so I will produce an audit and prioritize what needs attention first.

I will then identify key search terms with high volumes of traffic that your website could target and plan around this.

Finally, I will look at off-site SEO tasks such as Google business profiles and other local citations.
